The sheer amount of detail in this is amazing! There is a lot going on – lots of different patterns and such – but the piece never feels cluttered in the least, which I think is really impressive!
All in all, I’m really enjoying your washi tape works! I wonder, what is your technique? Like, do you draw the base first, or do you start by applying the tape…? I'm curious!
I draw the base first lightly with pencil, then I actually cut out a different paper with the shape I want it (for example, the hair) and then put tape on it, then trim the tape that is hanging out so the shape is exactly the way I want it. Then, I glue all the pieces on the first paper with the pencil drawing on it ( I erase the pencil by now) so it makes the shape of the figure. lastly, I add details in with different tape until I think it's done!!
